Dan Radion

Dan Radion was on the NeoBots for all four of his high school years. During the 2012 season, he was a president. While he was president, the NeoBots got to the semi-finals for the first time ever, and we won our first award, the Gracious Professionalism Award. Currently Dan is working at MicroGREEN Polymers until he starts classes at the University of Washington in the fall of 2013. At work, Dan does things such as programming.

Dan says that the NeoBots gave him something to focus on during high school and that when school was frustrating robotics got him through it all. During his senior year mentors helped him prepare for life after high school by writing him letters of recommendation, assisting him in getting scholarships, and connecting him with the company he currently works for. One of Dan’s favorite parts of being on the NeoBots was having “amazing mentors that would let students take the lead and learn from their own successes and mistakes.”

To current robotics members, Dan advises rookies to “jump in and get involved. It’s always intimidating at first, but it’s worth it,” and to veterans he says to “take advantage of everything FIRST® has to offer you. Look into the scholarships that they offer, put your robotics experience on your resume, and ask your mentors for great letters of recommendation.” He also loves the color pink.
