Emily Johnson
Emily Johnson was the very first president of the NeoBots, which was then called AFROC. She was on the team for one year because she was a senior when the club began. She currently works at Cintas in First Aid and Safety where she does office operations. A big part of her job is working with a software called SAP. While working, she is going to Everett Community College. She’s majoring in IT and administrative management, and she says that the “business aspect of FIRST® and the science aspect guided [her] decision in a major.” She plans to transfer from EVCC to Central Washington University.
Emily’s favorite part of robotics was the competition and meeting other FRC teams during competition. She was proud of the NeoBots completing the robot because the team put “a lot of work into that project and it was awesome to see it completed.” During her year of robotics, Emily didn’t play any of the four sports she had played in previous years because robotics was so fun and she enjoyed all of the people she worked with.
To robotics members today, Emily says to “use this experience as an outlet for your future. You can obtain a lot of scholarships from this and make a lot of connections in the job world.”
